Mariusz Madalinski graduated from the Faculty of Medicine of the Medical University of Gdańsk, Poland. He trained in Internal Medicine in Gdansk, where he also undertook Gastroenterology training. From January 2003 to October 2006, he worked as the head of the Internal Medicine Department in Poland. He has been working in the UK as a Consultant Gastroenterologist since 2006; he has extensive experience in this post, having worked in this position since 2011 for the Pennine Acute Hospitals Trust in Manchester. He was the main investigator in some international research subjects e.g. for PREVENT Medical Thromboprophylaxis Study Group. He also contributed to the preparation of a Polish Nantionwide course for doctors concerning the treatment of haemorrhoidal disease. His research interests include clinical application of botulin toxin for benign anorectal disorders and luminal gastroenterology.  He has published over 40 articles in peer-reviewed journals, contributed to over 10 book chapters and given invited lectures of botulinum toxin application throughout Europe. Several of his articles were quoted in guidelines by many authorities (among others in the US and the UK).
