Dr. Natalia Stepanova is Head of the Nephrology and Dialysis Department in the State Institution “Institute of Nephrology of the National Academy of Medical Science of Ukraine”, and a professor of the Department of Internal Medicine #3 in the Bogomolets National Medical University, Ukraine. Having received her MD degree from Donetsk Medical University in 1997, Dr. Stepanova worked at Donetsk Central Hospital. She obtained her PhD degree in 2002, and since that time she has been working as a nephrologist and a scientist at the State Institution “Institute of Nephrology of the National Academy of Medical Science of Ukraine”. In 2018, Dr. Stepanova was awarded Honored Doctor of Ukraine and got the title of Professor of Medicine in 2020. Her ongoing research interests are urinary tract infection, chronic kidney disease, peritoneal dialysis and hemodialysis. She is the Deputy Editor-in-Chief of the Ukrainian Journal of Nephrology and Dialysis, a reviewer of several high-quality scientific journals, and has published more than 490 peer-reviewed articles. Currently, Dr. Stepanova is the Vice-President of the Ukrainian Association of Nephrologists and Kidney Transplant Specialists, scientific supervisor of 5 applicants for the Ph.D. program, member of several international nephrologistsʼ societies, member of the Expert Commission of the Ministry of Health and the National Academy of Medical Sciences of Ukraine in the specialty "Nephrology" and specialized Academic Council D 26.565.01 State Institution "Institute of Nephrology of the National Academy of Medical Sciences of Ukraine".
