Born 1955 in Bucharest. Studied 1975-1979Biochemistry at Bucharest University. After graduation, worked in the drug industry until 1988 - Bucharest Drug Enterprise. Moved to National Institute for Chemical Pharmaceutical Research, were I  am presently chief of Pharmaceutical Biotechnology Department. Obtained the PhD title in 1999, in biochemistry, with a thesis on "Isolation, characterization and biotechnological uses of insulin receptors". The main achievement in the institute is the set up of the laboratory for in vitro pharmacology, based on the use of animal and human cell  cultures. Besides this, I also started working in Victor Babes National Institute, in the biochemistry-proteomics laboratory. Since 2016 I also act as an associated professor of histology in the School of Medicine of Titu Maiorescu University. I am focused on in vitro research in pharmacology and also in biomedical sciences, mainly in the investigation of cancer, and also in the application of different proteomics technologies in the investigation of cellular, tissular or systemic processes. I have published over 117 articles in journals indexed by ISI/Clarivate.
