Huang Rongrong obtained the Ph.D. in Immunology from Southeast University in 2020 and is currently employed as an Assistant Researcher in the Department of Pharmacy at the Affiliated Hospital of Nantong University. I also serve as a graduate tutor at Nantong University and has been selected for the Jiangsu Province's "Double Innovation" Doctoral Talent Program and Nantong City's Medical Key Talent Program. My primary research directions encompass the molecular mechanisms of glial cell inflammation and vascular injury in depression, emphasizing inflammation as a pivotal factor in the onset and progression of depression. Given that approximately one-third of depression patients do not respond to any medication, exploring the mechanisms of depression can aid in the screening of potential drug targets, which will further advance the development of antidepressant medications. In addition, addressing the shortcomings of current clinical diagnosis and prognosis evaluation for depression, I have also conducted research on peripheral blood biomarkers in depression patients. Relevant achievements have been published in prestigious journals in the field, such as Autophagy, Biological Psychiatry, Brain Behavior and Immunity, and Journal of Affective Disorders. A single paper has been cited over 200 times and received high praise in a commentary written by expert Vedrana Bali in Biological Psychiatry. A research project on the mechanism of microglial cells in depression has also been awarded a Chinese invention patent. In 2024, I was invited to join The Scientific Research Honor Society, and in 2025, I served as a Young Editorial Board Member for the Journal of Integrative Neuroscience, Young Editorial Board Member for Regenerative Medicine Reports, and Academic Committee Member for ETERNO PRESS. My research achievements in the field of depression have been recognized by relevant experts and have received funding from the National Natural Science Foundation of China and the Natural Science Foundation of Jiangsu Province.
