Lenin Pavón is an immunologist graduate from the Instituto Politécnico Nacional, Mexico City, Mexico. Since 2000, he has been the Head of the Department of Psychoimmunology in the Instituto Nacional de Psiquiatría, Mexico City, Mexico. His work studies neuro-endocrine-immune interactions in stress, major depression, fibromyalgia, schizophrenia, multiple sclerosis, and Alzheimer's disease. Professor Pavón has received awards throughout his professional career; he has published 94 articles in indexed journals and 20 chapters on specialized books. According to Scopus, his accumulated work has received more than 2100 citations, and he has a Hirsh factor (h) of 23. In addition, he has given more than 100 lectures by invitation at national and international academic events. Currently, he is a guest professor in the postgraduate programs in immunology at the most important universities in his country. He is the author of the "Inmunología Molecular, Celular y Traslacional" and “COVID-19. Virología, inmunología, clínica y aproximación diagnóstica y terapéutica”, both books edited by Wolters Kluwer. Furthermore, he is presently Member of Editorial Board of World Journal Psychiatry and a Member of the editorial board of different national and international journals and scientific societies.
