Dr Jaber S Alqahtani is an Assistant Professor & Senior Specialist in Respiratory Care at Prince Sultan Military College of Health Sciences, an Associate Fellow of the Higher Education Academy, UK and an Advanced Critical Care Practitioner. Alqahtani completed his undergraduate studies in Saudi Arabia at Prince Sultan Military College of Health Sciences and the Master degree in Advanced Clinical Practice (Critical Care) at University of Southampton, UK and finally, obtained his PhD in Respiratory Medicine at University College London (UCL), UK. He has published more than 70 scientific publications in many international and prestigious journals. He served as a reviewer for more than 58 scientific journals with more than 158 verified reviews at Publon. Currently, he is working as an Editorial Board Member for two important Journals: BMC Pulmonary Medicine and Journal of Chronic Respiratory Disease. Recently, Alqahtani was globally recognised as an Expertscape Expert, in which Expertscape's PubMed-based algorithms place him in the top 1% of scholars writing about Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease over the past 10 years (2011-2021). His research interest is in COPD, with a particular focus on COPD exacerbations, and also in Respiratory and Critical Care and in identifying and prioritising the unanswered research questions using priority setting partnership and systematic review.
