Hong-Jie Xu, Ph.D., postdoctoral fellow, associate professor, is currently working at the Fifth Affiliated Hospital of Guangzhou Medical University. Graduated from Northwestern Polytechnical University and doctoral training in China astronaut center until 2015,then working in Space Science and Technology Institute and Biotechnology Co Ltd. Postdoctoral project at Jinan University. Enrolled at GDL since Nov. 2019. IPS cultivation system was established for the first time in the laboratory in 2012. The mechanical force transmission pathway for osteoblast differentiation under simulated microgravity conditions was discovered, providing a reference for astronauts to combat bone loss. We have designed and modified multiple hydrogels and combined them with stem cells to treat various inflammatory diseases, especially the repair of diabetic wounds, providing new measures for the treatment of chronic inflammatory diseases. In summary, the research direction mainly focuses on the study of stem cells and their force chemical regulation, as well as the transformation and application of stem cells. The relevant article has been published in Journal International Journal of Biological Macromolecules (2019), Aging Dis (2024), Stem Cell Res Ther (2025). More than 10 articles have been published and 30 invention patents have been applied for, including two each in the United States and Hong Kong. Reviewed about five articles. The main goal for the future is to continue to develop empowering stem cell technologies and promote clinical research and market application. By means of genetic modification or physicochemical methods to enhance cell performance, and through the integration of new hydrogel materials, the therapeutic effect can ultimately be improved, the convenience of clinical or patient use can be enhanced, and the cost can be reduced at the same time. The current indications include arthritis, diabetic wounds, various chronic inflammations, neurodegenerative diseases, dry eye syndrome, etc Obtained CET-6, CET-4 Computer Network Engineer and driver's license.
