My name is Grigorios Christodoulidis MD, PhD, I am a senior consultant in surgery, head of the upper Gastro-Intestinal surgical department in the university hospital of Larisa ,in Larisa, in Greece. My specialization is in the field of upper GI benign and cancer surgery and in the field of hernia surgery including inguinal hernia, ventral abdominal hernia and complicated ventral abdominal hernia. My international publications are in a number of 129, being in 49 as first author. I have participated in 31 international academic conference speeches and I have received 8 awards in international conferences. The total number of citations in internationally published articles are 4322 with an H-index of 25. I am a member in 12 international medical societies and a senior member in council of Panhellenic surgical site infection society and in Panhellenic hernia society. Also I am an instructor in Advance Trauma Life Support , in Definitive Surgical Trauma course and in Basic Surgical Skills course. I had organized as vice president 3 congresses regarding gastric cancer, ventral abdominal hernias and emergency surgery and participated in the organization of 12 more congresses. As a reviewer I have reviewed 256 articles for international medical journals and I have written 31 editorials. My research is mainly in the field of gastric and esophageal cancer including surgical treatment options , additional new advances in diagnosis and treatment regarding chemotherapy and immunotherapy and prehabilitation protocols and how can influence the overall survival. As far as it concerns other academic academic activities I teach general surgery in 4th, 5th and 6th year medical students and trauma surgery in 5th year medical student. Additionally I teach in 6 postgraduate master of science courses regarding emergency medicine and trauma , pelvic floor diseases, hernias, acute clinical entities in gastroenterology, diverticular disease – diverticulitis and malabsorption syndromes. My hobbies include travelling abroad, reading books especially related to history, playing basketball and model building of historical miniatures.
