I finished my BS in Chemistry (Biochemistry) in 1981 at the University of Barcelona and start my carrer as teacher since 1987 when I started as Biochemist at the Valle Hebron Universitary Hospital in Barcelona (Spain) since today. I have developed multiple tasks, mainly as responsible of viral hepatitis in vitro studies but also as postgraduate teacher at Universitat Autonoma of Barcelona. In 1989 I enjoyed of a fellow at Max Von Pettenkofer Institut (Munchen) with Prof,. Michael Roggendorf. My main interest is in Viral hepatitis infections from a virological point of view (mainly HBV). That include the development of laboratory technologies and in addition the basic study of viral replication models and variability studies, specially by massive sequencing technologies the last four years. Current professional and research responsibilities: 1-Responsible of Liver Patology Laboratory Unit,which integrates all the assistential activity corresponding to the públic Health assistance in the area of Barcelona city (1.5 Milion peope) at the level of virological studies in viral hepatitis and the Valle Hebron Hospital activity at serològical and virological level (around 200.000 virological and serological studies/year). 2-PhD supervisor (6 presented and 11 in course) 3-Main Senior Resarcher of in the in vitro/experimental branch of B,D and E at the Viral Hepatitis Research group at Valle Hebron Research Institut and in the CIBER ehd (hepatitis públic network) under the direction of Prof. R Esteban.4- Associate Professor in Biochemistry (UAB_Autnonoma University of Barcelona). 5-Head of Clinical Biochemistry research group (50 members)
