Medical degree at the I Faculty of Medicine and Surgery, University of Naples, Italy. Fellowship in “Gastroenterology and Digestive Endoscopy” and PhD in “Digestive and Nutrition Physiopathology” at Federico II University of Naples, Italy. From 2001 to 2005, fellowship in “Extraintestinal manifestations in Inflammatory Bowel Disease. Study of the immune-responses and cytokine profiles” at the Dept. of Clinical and Experimental Medicine, Federico II University of Naples, Italy. In 2005, he was nominated Assistant Medical Director at UOSC of Gastroenterology at Cardarelli Hospital of Naples, Italy. He obtained the National Scientific Qualification for Professor and Chair of Gastroenterology. Over the last 30 years, his research interest was in Cardiology, Rheumatology and Allergology, and then in Gastroenterology and Hepatology. In particular, he has focused his scientific interest in Inflammatory Bowel Disease and Gastrointestinal Hemorrhage. He has published 135 articles cited on Medline or Science Citation Index (Impact Factor 2015: 875,015, H index 44) and many book chapters. He was the Coordinator of the Inflammatory Bowel Disease Group for the Italian Association of Hospital Gastroenterologists & Digestive Endoscopists (AIGO). He is consultant in many national and international projects for his expertise in Statistics. Dr. Manguso is a member of the Associazione Italiana Gastroenterologi & Endoscopisti Ospedalieri (AIGO) from 2005; Società Italiana di Endoscopia Digestiva (SIED) from 2008; European Crohn's and Colitis Organization (ECCO) from 2009; Italian Group for the Inflammatory Bowel Disease (IG-IBD) from 2010. Member of the IG-IBD Scientific Council from 2011 to 2013. Member of the Medical-Scientific Committee of the National Association for the Inflammatory Bowel Disease (AMICI Onlus) from October 22, 2016.
