I am Dr. Wang Yugang, a professor and chief physician in the Department of Gastroenterology at Tongren Hospital affiliated with Shanghai Jiao Tong University School of Medicine. I specialize in diagnosing and treating critical cases of digestive system diseases, as well as performing endoscopic surgeries. My research focuses on chronic liver disease and gastrointestinal tumors. I have developed an exosome-based platform for intelligent drug delivery and personalized anti-tumor therapy, which has been recognized by my peers. With over 30 years of experience working on the front lines of healthcare, I have a deep understanding of the foundational theories and professional knowledge of gastroenterology. Through extensive clinical practice, I have accumulated rich experience in clinical diagnosis and treatment, excelling in handling various complex conditions in gastroenterology. My clinical expertise includes the diagnosis and treatment of critical digestive system diseases, endoscopic procedures, and interventional techniques for the liver. I have led the discipline to become a key medical specialty in Shanghai, a key laboratory of the Shanghai Health Commission, an innovative team in the district, a renowned department in Changning District, and a core member of the Shanghai Clinical Medical Research Center (Gastrointestinal Diseases). In recent years, I have consistently ranked first in the competitiveness of disciplines among municipal hospitals in Shanghai. I have developed technical specialties such as "early gastric cancer diagnosis and treatment," "characteristics of chronic liver disease," "gastrointestinal endoscopy diagnosis and treatment," and "critical pancreatitis management." I have made significant contributions to hospital discipline construction, talent cultivation, scientific innovation, teaching improvement, and public health prevention. I have published over 40 articles as the first author or corresponding author and presented more than ten reports at international conferences. My work has been cited over 1,000 times. I have received the Shanghai Science and Technology Award three times and am a member of several professional associations, dedicated to advancing the development of this field. For example, I am a member of the Biobased Materials Committee of the Chinese Society for Biotechnology and the Shanghai Medical Association's Gastroenterology Society. I possess strong communication and interpersonal skills, enabling effective interaction with colleagues and patients. I have excellent problem-solving abilities when tackling complex medical issues. In my leadership and mentoring roles, I strive to motivate and guide junior staff.
