I am Thomas de Lange and is since 2019 a senior consultant in gastroenterology at Sahlgrenska University Hospital- Mölndal, and an associate professor at the University of Gothenburg, Sweden. Previously, I have been senior consultant at several Norwegian hospitals such as Oslo University Hospital and Bærum Hospital, Vestre Viken. I have three decades of experience in the field of gastroenterology and iI am currently head of the endoscopy unit as well as for the research groups AIQEN and CRS. I am very focused and passionate by patient care, innovative approaches to treatment and diagnosis in endoscopy, and has contributed to research in gastroenterology with focus on endoscopy in the 25 last years. I am also employed as chief medical scientist at the Norwegian start-up company Augere Medical in a 20% position. I completed my medical degree at the University of Strasbourg in 1989, where I got an early interest in gastroenterology more particularly in endoscopy, fields that combines the complexities of both medical and surgical care. Upon graduation, he pursued a specialized residency in internal medicine & gastroenterology and is now certified in internal medicine and gastroenterology. In addition to my clinical practice, I am a well-regarded researcher and educator. I have published numerous articles in leading gastroenterology journals and contributed to clinical trials that explore new therapies and treatments for gastrointestinal diseases. His research interests include the development of digital solutions in endoscopy such as AI software development for polyp detection I am involved in the medical community in Gothenburg, Sweden and internationally, where I collaborates with other specialists and institutions to enhance healthcare outcomes. I am a member of several professional organizations, including the Swedish Society of Gastroenterology, Scandinavian Association for Digestive Endoscopy and the European Society of Gastrointestinal Endoscopy. My contributions to these societies aim to improve the standards of care within gastroenterology and sharing my knowledge with peers.
