Dr. King-Wah Chiu is an expertise hepato-Gastroenterologist for 30 years and the first Transplant Hepatologist in the field of liver transplantation in Kaohsiung Chang Gung Memorial Hospital since 1998 till now. He is a graduate of the China Medical University and did his medical training at the Chang Gung Memorial Hospital, Taiwan. He is a Professor of Cheng-Shiu University, an Associate Professor of Chang Gung University, College of Medicine and a Professor of Chang Gung Memorial Hospital right now. In 1994, he performed ultrasonically-guided needle aspiration with preparation of cell blocks in the diagnosis of liver tumors in Taiwan, and for his outstanding contribution in science and technology was bestowed the Taiwan Medicine Revitalization of Foundation Thesis Award in 1996. He became Chief of Division of Gastroenterology of Kaohsiung Chang Gung Memorial Hospital in 2009-2015. He performed surveillance monitoring of the High-Level Disinfection in Gastrointestinal Endoscopy and has published a series articles on the monitoring culture in guideline of disinfection. He also performed academic researches on the field of P450 system in liver transplantation such as CYP2C19, CYP3A4, CYP3A5, MDR-1. He has published more than 200 SCI-cited scientific articles.
