Dr. Farkas graduated from the University of Toronto Medical School, following which, he completed his general surgery residency at Montefiore Medical Center and the Albert Einstein College of Medicine. He then went on to complete a fellowship in advanced laparoscopy and bariatric surgery at Hackensack University Medical Center. Dr. Farkas has given a variety of presentations at both national and international surgical meetings. He is a board certified surgeon, and is a member of several surgical societies. Dr. Farkas is currently on faculty at the Albert Einstein College of Medicine, where is an Associate Professor of Clinical Surgery. He practices at the Bronx-Lebanon Hospital Center, where is the Associate Program Director of the General Surgery residency program.
