Aytan Miranda Sipahi got his graduation in Medicine at the Federal University of Ceará in 1965. During his Post graduation course , got his Master Degree in Gastroenterology by the Brazilian Institute for Studies and Research in Gastroenterology in 1978 and a PhD Degree in Clinical Gastroenterology by the Faculty of Medicine at the University of S?o Paulo , in 1985 . Later , during the post-doctoral that was held in the University of Bologna di - Cattedra Gastroenterologia, developed a research in collaboration with the Research Group on Bile Salts , coordinated by Dr. Aldo Roda. In 1994, when came back to Brazil, formed a Research Group at the Clinical Gastroenterology Department, at the Faculty of Medicine, University of S?o Paulo, where he is head of the Laboratory of Clinical and Experimental Gastroenterology Laboratory ( LIM07 ), and besides has chaired the Brazilian Study group on Inflammatory Bowel Disease (GEDIIB). He is an Assistant Physician responsible for the Infirmary of Gastroenterology Discipline and the Outpatient Intestine Group of Hospital das Clínicas of the Faculty of Medicine at the University of S?o Paulo. He is experient in Medicine with emphasis on Celiac Disease and Inflammatory Bowel Disease - Crohn's Disease, Ulcerative Colitis and malabsorption Syndrome - mainly in the following areas: diagnosis, treatment , epidemiology , serological and molecular markers , experimental models and cellular models .The research activities were on lymphatic transport of HDL, bile salts metaboplism and most recently the epidemiology of celiac disease in Brazil , the study of nutrition in Crohn's disease , experimental models for inflammatory bowel disease, nanoparticles and small intestine toxicity.
