Editorial board member of World Journal of Gastroenterology, Dr. Kanda is an Associate Professor and a Clinical Professor, Division of Gastroenterology and Hepatology, Department of Medicine, Nihon University School of Medicine at Itabashi-ku, Tokyo, Japan. Having received MD from Niigata University School of Medicine, Niigata, Japan in 1991 and receiving his PhD from Chiba University, Graduate School of Medicine, Chiba Japan in 1999, Dr. Kanda undertook his post-doctor training for three years, at Departments of Pathology and Internal Medicine, Saint Louis University, School of Medicine, St. Louis, MO, USA, under Prof. Ratna B. Ray and Prof. Ranjit Ray, respectively. He became an Associate Professor in the Department of Gastroenterology and Nephrology, Chiba University, Graduate School of Medicine in 2008. He is now an Associate Professor, Division of Gastroenterology and Hepatology, Department of Medicine, Nihon University School of Medicine. He currently performs clinical and basic research on hepatic and pancreatic diseases.
