Dr. Guang Yang, PhD, is an Associate Professor at Tianjin Medical University Cancer Institute and Hospital. He was recruited through the institutional Talent Recruitment Program and is recognized as a Distinguished Innovation Talent under the Shuren Talent Program. His research focuses on tumor immunology, cancer metabolic reprogramming, novel post-translational modifications, and translational oncology, with particular interests in understanding the molecular mechanisms underlying tumor immune regulation and developing innovative strategies for cancer diagnosis and immunotherapy. His research is driven by the goal of elucidating how metabolic and epigenetic reprogramming shapes the tumor immune microenvironment and influences tumor progression, therapeutic resistance, and clinical outcomes. By integrating molecular biology, immunology, multi-omics technologies, bioinformatics, and translational medicine, he seeks to bridge fundamental discoveries with clinical applications. His work is distinguished by combining mechanistic studies of emerging post-translational modifications with translational research to identify novel therapeutic targets and clinically relevant biomarkers for precision oncology, thereby accelerating the development of next-generation cancer immunotherapies. Dr. Guang Yang has published more than 30 SCI-indexed research articles as first author or corresponding author in internationally recognized journals, including Journal of Hepatology, Cancer Research, Acta Pharmaceutica Sinica B, Theranostics, EMBO Reports, JHEP Reports, and Acta Pharmacologica Sinica. He has also applied for four patents related to tumor diagnostic biomarkers and anticancer immunotherapeutic agents, demonstrating the translational potential of his research. He is the Principal Investigator of one project funded by the National Natural Science Foundation of China (NSFC) and one Young Investigator Project supported by the 14th Five-Year Special Research Program for Cancer Prevention and Control at Tianjin Medical University Cancer Institute and Hospital. He has delivered invited presentations at national and international academic conferences and actively collaborates with researchers in the fields of cancer biology, immunology, and translational medicine. His current citation record, Google Scholar H-index, and other bibliometric indicators continue to reflect the growing international recognition of his scientific contributions. In addition to conducting scientific research, Dr. Guang Yang actively contributes to the academic publishing community. He serves as an Invited Reviewer for the Chinese Journal of Clinical Oncology and has peer-reviewed manuscripts for multiple international SCI journals in the fields of oncology, immunology, pharmacology, and molecular medicine. He is committed to maintaining high standards of scientific rigor, research integrity, and publication quality through constructive and timely peer review. Furthermore, he is a Council Member of the Sixth Council of the Tianjin Anti-Cancer Association and currently serves as Chair-Elect, Vice Chair, and Standing Committee Member of the Translational Oncology Committee of the Tianjin Anti-Cancer Association. His long-term research vision is to advance precision oncology by integrating cancer immunology, metabolism, epigenetics, artificial intelligence, and translational medicine. His laboratory aims to uncover fundamental mechanisms of tumor initiation, immune escape, therapeutic resistance, and disease progression through multidisciplinary approaches. Ultimately, he seeks to translate laboratory discoveries into clinically applicable diagnostic biomarkers and therapeutic strategies that improve patient outcomes and contribute to the development of personalized cancer medicine. Dr. Guang Yang possesses extensive expertise in experimental oncology, molecular and cellular biology, cancer immunology, multi-omics analysis, translational research, and biomedical data interpretation. He demonstrates strong leadership and project management skills through the successful supervision of multidisciplinary research projects and collaborative scientific teams. He is also recognized for his analytical thinking, problem-solving ability, scientific communication, mentoring of graduate students and young investigators, interdisciplinary collaboration, and commitment to fostering innovation in biomedical research. His ability to integrate experimental investigations with computational analyses enables him to address complex biological questions and accelerate the translation of scientific discoveries into clinical applications.
