Zhang Tao, PhD, Professor, Master’s Supervisor, Member of the Standing Committee of the Party Committee and Vice President of Chengdu Medical College; Dean of the College of In Vitro Diagnostic Industry, Chengdu Medical College; Deputy Director of Sichuan Provincial Key Laboratory for Radiation Preservation and Biological Effects. Member of the Sub-Committee for Biopharmaceutical Teaching, the Teaching Guidance Committee for Pharmacy Majors under the Ministry of Education; Deputy Director of the Teaching Guidance Committee for Bioengineering Majors, Sichuan Provincial Undergraduate University Teaching Guidance Committee. My long-term research centers on the pathological mechanisms underlying the initiation and progression of radiation injury as well as key prevention and treatment technologies. I have carried out systematic research on scientific issues including ionizing radiation-induced tissue damage, inflammatory imbalance and functional reconstruction, and yielded a series of innovative achievements in early warning diagnosis of radiation injury, biological protection, and intervention and treatment strategies. Addressing critical bottlenecks such as difficulties in identifying early biomarkers of radiation injury and the lack of effective intervention approaches, my team has systematically elucidated vital molecular mechanisms governing the development of radiation injury and established corresponding technical systems for diagnosis, prevention and treatment, providing theoretical foundations and technical support for precise prevention and control of radiation damage. My research findings have been published in top-tier international journals including Nature Communications. I have authored or co-authored more than 20 SCI papers as the first or corresponding author, earning sound academic influence and wide recognition in the industry. I have presided over 2 National Natural Science Foundation projects, 4 provincial and ministerial-level research projects, and 6 prefectural/bureau-level research projects, and undertaken 12 technical service projects commissioned by enterprises. My research achievements have won provincial and ministerial science and technology awards including the First Prize of the Outstanding Scientific Research Achievement Award (Science and Technology) for Institutions of Higher Education under the Ministry of Education and the Second Prize of Sichuan Provincial Medical Science and Technology Award. I promote the transformation and industrial application of core technologies for radiation injury prevention and treatment. I hold 8 authorized national invention patents and have completed the industrial transformation of 3 scientific and technological achievements, advancing the clinical and industrialized application of relevant technologies. In teaching practice, I have received teaching honors including the First and Third Prizes of Sichuan Provincial Higher Education Teaching Achievement Award. I have been selected into the National Talent Pool of Ten Thousand Outstanding Innovation and Entrepreneurship Mentors and awarded the title of Outstanding Teacher of Sichuan Province. I have successively been honored as a Reserve Candidate of the 13th Batch of Academic and Technical Leaders of Sichuan Province, a Young Scientific Elite under the Tianfu Qingcheng Program of Sichuan Province, and a Young Scientific Elite under the Tianfu Ten-Thousand Talents Program of Sichuan Province.
