Nikolaos K. Tentolouris was born in 1962. He graduated from the Medical School of the University of Athens in 1986. After completing his military service and compulsory rural service, he specialized in Internal Medicine at the First Department of Propaedeutic Internal Medical of the University of Athens, Laiko General Hospital. He received his qualification in Internal Medicine in 1997. He then went to the UK where he worked in clinical and research in the field of diabetes, Metabolic and Endocrine Diseases at Manchester Royal Infirmary. Since 1998 he has been working as a NHS curator, then as a Lecturer and Assistant Professor and since 2012 he has been working as Associate Professor at the First Department of Propaedeutic Internal Medical of the University of Athens, Laiko General Hospital. In addition to Internal Medicine, Dr. Tentolouris works clinically and research on diabetes and its complications (neuropathy, diabetic foot, early atherosclerosis) and Metabolism. It is a member of 6 Greek and 4 International Scientific Societies. He was a member of the Executive Committee of the EASD and Secretary General of the Diabetic Foot Study Group. He has published more than 190 scientific papers in International Scientific journals and 15 chapters in international books on diabetes and its complications.
