See Kay Choong, MBBS, MRCP(UK), FRCP Edin, MPH (Harvard), MHPE (Maastricht), EDIC, FAPSR, FCCP, is an Adjunct Associate Professor at the Department of Medicine, National University Hospital, Singapore, and the Associate Designated Institutional Official at the National University Health System, Singapore. He has completed Advanced Specialty Training in both Respiratory Medicine and Intensive Care Medicine in Singapore, along with a Master of Public Health from the Harvard School of Public Health and a Master of Health Professions Education from Maastricht University. His expertise includes bronchoscopy, endobronchial ultrasound, ultrasound-guided pleural procedures, and thoracoscopy (pleuroscopy). His diverse academic and clinical interests span Intensive Care Medicine, cardiopulmonary physiology and critical care ultrasonography, pleural disorders and ultrasonography, advanced bronchoscopy, smoking cessation, epidemiology and biostatistics, healthcare quality improvement, healthcare ethics and philosophy—including justice and end-of-life care—as well as the theory and practice of medical education. Dr. See has published more than 100 articles as the first or corresponding author in prominent academic journals and is a frequent speaker at national and international conferences. He has received multiple teaching and research awards and has served as President of the Society of Intensive Care Medicine Singapore. Additionally, he was Head of the Division of Respiratory and Critical Care Medicine at the National University Hospital, Singapore. He plays an active role in professional societies, holding leadership positions in the Asia Pacific Society of Respirology, Singapore Thoracic Society, and the Society of Intensive Care Medicine Singapore. Dr. See is also a member of several prestigious professional organizations, including the American College of Chest Physicians (ACCP), Singapore Medical Association (SMA), Royal College of Physicians, Edinburgh, Society of Intensive Care Medicine, Singapore, Singapore Thoracic Society, Asian Pacific Society of Respirology, Singapore Cancer Society, and the Asia-Pacific Alliance for the Control of Influenza (APACI). Beyond his research contributions, Dr. See is an active member of editorial boards for multiple journals, including serving as Deputy Editor of the Singapore Medical Journal and Associate Editor of Respirology Case Reports. His long-term research efforts focus on public health, medical education, and healthcare quality improvement, aiming to drive advancements in patient care, policy, and medical training. Dr. See possesses strong leadership, mentoring, communication, and problem-solving skills, which he applies to both clinical practice and academia. Outside of work, he enjoys running, reading, and traveling, which help him maintain a well-balanced life.
