Olga Kalinina, PhD, DSc, Associate Prof. in virology and molecular biology; Professor of Department of Laboratory Medicine with Clinic, Institute of Medical Education, and Leading Researcher of Laboratory of Microvesicular Signaling, Institution of Molecular Biology and Genetics, Almazov National Medical Research Centre, Saint-Petersburg 197341, Russia; Leading Researcher of Laboratory of Molecular Epidemiology and Evolutionary Genetics, Saint-Petersburg Pasteur Institute, Saint Petersburg 197021, Russia. Graduated from Saint-Petersburg State University as biologists. In 2000 and 2013, was awarded the PhD and Doctor of Science, respectively. For a long time, worked on the epidemiology, genetics, and evolution of viral hepatitis. As result, the recombination in the hepatitis C virus was discovered. Currently, is working on infectious and non-infectious diseases including necrotizing enterocolitis in newborns, oncological diseases, etc. Scientific interests include molecular biology and genetics, molecular immunology, epidemiology and phylodynamics, pathogenesis of human diseases, molecular genetic predictors and biomarkers of various diseases, development of specific diagnostic methods, mechanisms of drug resistance and pathogen-host interactions. In the periods 1996-1997 and 2005-2006 was working at the Pasteur Institute, Paris, and in the period 2000-2004 – in Swedish Institute for the Control of Infectious Diseases, Stockholm, participated in international projects supported by IAEA, INTAS, ACIP (Pasteur Institute, Paris), PTR (Pasteur Institute, Paris), Swedish Institute, Russian Science Foundation, etc. Since 2012 cooperated with the Joint Russian-Vietnamese Tropical Research and Technological Center, Hanoi, Vietnam. Since 2024 cooperated with Baoding Children’s Hospital, China. H-index in Scopus is equal to 16; ORCID number is 0000-0003-1916-5705. A total of 1048 articles citation. The Member of the Russian Society of Microbiologists, Epidemiologists and Parasitologists, Russian Society of Medical Genetics. Other occupation: the Professor position in Saint-Petersburg State Institute of Technology teaching students to molecular biology, genetics, laboratory diagnosis, etc. Another teaching and scientific activities: development of the novel courses for bachelor, master and PhD students.
