Fernando González MD, MBA. Full Professor Universidad de Chile and Universidad de Los Andes, both in Santiago, Chile. Nephrology, Dialysis and Transplantation Service at Hospital del Salvador, Santiago, Chile, I direct the Nephrology fellowship at Universidad de Chile and I work, as teammate, with engineers from the Faculty of Physic and Mathematic Sciences, also from Universidad de Chile, developing new technological tools to increase the country organ donation rates. In my carrier I have published several articles, some as coauthor or investigator in big clinical trials, like RENAAL, SONAR, FIGARO and FIDELIO, all in diabetes kidney disease, or as first or corresponding author in smaller initiatives, mainly in transplantation, finance and resource utilization, and in Spanish or English spoken journals. In parallel, I review manuscripts for several journals and serve as associate editor in a couple of them and, of course, I have published Editorials dedicated to other manuscripts in areas of kidney transplantation and renal diseases, like glomerulonephritis or chronic kidney diseases (CKD) and collaborate with several in Chilean and South American scientific societies giving lectures. My professional activities are dedicated to glomerular diseases, lupus, CKD, hypertensive and end stage renal disease patients and parallel development of machine learning models to improve prediction, mainly in clinical transplantation.
