Gelin Wang received both her BS and Ph.D. degrees at Wuhan University in China. She did her postdoctoral research at the University of Texas Southwestern Medical Center (UTSW) in the USA. In 2015, she joined Google’s Calico Life Sciences Company for aging research and drug development. Currently, she is an Associate Professor in the School of Pharmaceutical Sciences of Tsinghua University. Her research interests mainly focus on exploring biology of aging and discovering small molecules that intervene the intracellular aging process to have therapeutic application in age-related diseases including neurodegenerative diseases, cardiovascular diseases, and cancer.
