Dr. Hui Gao is an accomplished Associate Researcher and Doctoral/Master’s Supervisor in the Department of Pediatrics at The First Affiliated Hospital of Anhui Medical University. Holding a Doctor of Medicine degree, she plays a pivotal role in two major research platforms: the Key Laboratory of Population Health and Birth Defects Prevention (under the Ministry of Education) and the Anhui Provincial Key Laboratory of Population Health and Eugenics. Her research centers on the health implications of early-life exposure to phthalates (PAEs)—a class of environmental chemicals widely used in plastics and personal care products, with potential impacts on maternal and child health. A notable technical achievement in Dr. Gao’s work has been the establishment of a highly sensitive analytical method based on high-performance liquid chromatography-tandem mass spectrometry (HPLC-MS/MS), which enables the simultaneous quantification of multiple PAE metabolites in human urine.
