Dr. Sangkhathat is Head of Biomedical Science and Biomedical Engineering, Faculty of Medicine, Prince of Songkla University. He has focused on scientific research in cytology and molecular biology so as to acquire the medical knowledge for more efficient disease diagnosis and treatment. Our departmental research theme is categorized into cancer-related field, infectious diseases and bioinformatics which are important national causes of death. Our scientific aim also expands to our related disease and promotes collaboration with other departments in Faculty of Medicine, and external entities from both in Thailand and foreign countries. In addition, monetary support is available from Faculty of Medicine Research Fund and external source, for example Thailand Research Fund and other international research fund.He is continuously supported by the Faculty of Medicine, Prince of Songkla University in terms of research and equipments. The department offers standard laboratory and research equipment to support our research focus. The laboratory is available to wide range of biological science research such as molecular biology, cell culture, immunology and microbiology. We produce the graduate with profound academic skills and research ethics in order to create high standard productive research to society. All efforts and intentions to fulfill biomedical science knowledge have essentially contributed to sustainable development and life-quality enhancement in our community. Our purpose and determination have well served the Prince of Songkla’s motto: “Our Soul is for the benefit of mankind”.
