Dr. Yin Ping Wong is an Associate Professor of Pathology, anatomic pathologist and lecturer in the Department of Pathology, Faculty of Medicine, Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia (UKM). She received her master training in Anatomic Pathology in UKM. She has vast interest in the field of Cytopathology, Paediatric and Perinatal Pathology. She obtained a Fellowship award (F.I.A.C) from an International Professional Body - International Academy of Cytology (IAC) in the year 2019 and was recently awarded a Clinical Fellowship in Paediatric and Perinatal Pathology from UKM in the year 2022. She is frequently invited as a speaker for local cytotechnologists on cytopathology. Her research interest is on placental pathology, particularly on investigating the role and detrimental effects of infection on placental cells. She has more than 50 publications in high impact peer reviewed indexed journals. She has received multiple awards including Best Poster Awards (in the year 2019, 2020, 2021 and 2022), Excellent Service Award for the year 2019 and Highest Publication Award (Third Place) in the year 2022. Also, she serves as Associate Editor for The Malaysian Journal of Pathology and editorial board member for Medicine and Health Journal. Besides, she contributes as invited reviewers for many high impact indexed journals.
