He identified the role of apoptosis in the ductal plate malformation of the liver (Am J Pathol, 2000), a new CTL4/Neu1 gene fusion transcript in sialidosis (Hum Genet 2001, FEBS Lett 2002, J Med Genet 2003), and two new genes, including WDR62, which encodes a centrosome-associated protein (Nat Genet 2010) and OTX2, mutations of which contribute to dysgnathia (J Med Genet 2012). He is editor-in-chief and on the editorial board of prestigious medical journals and international agencies. A pathologist with an MPH combines mortality insights with public health statistics to be a rare life expectancy expert, highlighting clinical expertise in chronic illness trajectories, epidemiological expertise and social determinants of health, and institutional credibility through board certifications and peer-reviewed research.
