Sidong Yang, MD, PhD, orthopaedic surgeon at Department of Orthopaedic Surgery, Hebei Medical University Third Hospital (Hebei Provincial Orthopaedics Hospital), one of the most famous orthopaedics hospitals in China. Currently, Dr Yang is the Director of Hebei International Joint Research Centre for Spinal Diseases. Dr Yang's research interests include intervertebral disc degeneration and regeneration, cartilage repair, extracellular vesicles, estrogen, hydrogel and nanoparticles. Dr Yang completed his PhD training in Australian Institute for Bioengineering and Nanotechnology (AIBN), The University of Queensland, with Professor Justin Cooper-White being his supervisor. Dr Yang was a visiting academic in The University of Sydney during 2018-2019. Thus far, Dr Yang has secured 11 research grants in China, including grants from NSFC. Dr Yang has co-authored more than 100 scientific papers in international peer-reviewed journals, including high impact Q1 journals such as Bone Research, Advanced Science, Ageing Research Reviews, and European Spine Journal. Among half of these papers, Dr Yang is a first author, last author, or corresponding author. These papers by Dr Yang have yielded 2500+ citations. Dr Yang is now working as an associate editor for European Journal of Medical Research, Frontiers in Surgery, Journal of Orthopaedic Surgery and Research, and Journal of Visualized Experiments (JoVE), as well as a guest editor for Frontiers in Cell and Developmental Biology, Frontiers in Oncology, Mediators of Inflammation, Pain Research and Management, and Cell Proliferation.
