Lei Cheng, Director of the Orthopedics Department at Qilu Hospital of Shandong University, Party Branch Secretary, Taishan Scholar Distinguished Expert, Chief Physician, Professor, and Doctoral Supervisor. He has been engaged in frontline clinical medical teaching and research for 28 years. His research focuses on the pathogenesis and surgical treatment of spinal degenerative diseases, including cervical spondylosis, lumbar disc herniation, and lumbar spondylolisthesis. He has pioneered the application of single-channel spinal endoscopy technology and promoted a minimally invasive treatment system. In terms of academic appointments, he actively participates in domestic and international academic organizations and holds multiple positions, including Director of the Shandong University Joint Research Center of the International Chinese Musculoskeletal Research Society (ICMRS), Member of the Thoracolumbar Spine Group of the Orthopaedic Branch of the Chinese Medical Doctor Association, Member of the Spinal Functional Reconstruction Group of the Chinese Medical Doctor Association, Chairperson of the Transformation and Innovation Committee of the Shandong Medical Doctor Association, and Chairperson of the Spinal Cord Society of the Shandong Rehabilitation Association. Focusing on the mechanisms and intervention strategies of bone and cartilage degenerative diseases, he has presided over 9 national and provincial-level research projects, including 2 National Natural Science Foundation projects and 1 sub-project of the National Key R&D Program. His research delves into the specific molecular mechanisms of inflammatory molecular networks and mechanical loading, employing medical-engineering interdisciplinary strategies to achieve precise disease treatment.
