My name is Ran Wei, with a PhD degree and postdoctoral experience. I am an Assistant Professor and Chief Physician at the Pancreatic and Biliary Surgery Department, Sun Yat-sen University Cancer Center. My academic influence centers on the fundamental and clinical research of pancreatic and biliary cancer metastasis. Given the poor prognosis of these cancers, even after surgical intervention, patients often experience rapid tumor metastasis and recurrence, severely impacting their outcomes. My work focuses on pancreatic and biliary tumor metastasis as the primary variable, comprehensively exploring its mechanisms and intervention strategies. What differentiates my research is the integration of these findings into interventional clinical studies, aiming to translate laboratory discoveries into improved patient care. This dual approach not only deepens our understanding of cancer metastasis but also directly addresses the critical unmet needs in this field. I have published 10 articles as first author or corresponding author in important academic journals and have ever given academic conference speech on the Joint Congress of the 26th International Association of Pancreatology andthe 53rd Annual Meeting of Japan Pancreas Society, which took place in Kyoto,Japan, on July 7th ,2022. The total number of citations of my published articles is 56. I have ever peer reviewed over 10 articles. My personal and professional goals are centered around advancing research in the critical field of pancreatic and biliary tumor metastasis. I am primarily engaged in long-term studies aimed at deepening our understanding of the mechanisms underlying tumor metastasis in these cancers. My aspiration is to contribute significantly to the field by elucidating the complex processes involved and, subsequently, identifying more effective therapeutic agents that can inhibit tumor spread. Ultimately, I aim to improve patient outcomes and prognosis, striving towards better treatment options and enhanced quality of life for those affected by these devastating diseases. My distinctive professional skills encompass a strong foundation in both basic and clinical research focused on pancreatic and biliary tumors. I excel in communication, employing active listening to understand diverse perspectives and fostering effective collaboration. My interpersonal skills enable me to build strong relationships and work harmoniously within teams. Additionally, I possess robust leadership and management abilities, adeptly organizing activities and resources to ensure project success. My problem-solving skills are well-honed, allowing me to tackle challenges efficiently and develop innovative solutions, ultimately driving progress in my research and beyond. My hobbies include sports and travel. I enjoy various ball games, regularly play basketball, and love watching basketball matches.
