Dr. Zhigang Chen earned both his Ph.D. and M.D. from Zhejiang University and currently serves as a breast oncology surgeon at the Second Affiliated Hospital of Zhejiang University. He holds the position of Deputy Chief Physician in the Department of Breast Surgery and is also a Doctoral Supervisor at Zhejiang University. Dr. Zhigang Chen's research focuses on cancer stem cells and the tumor microenvironment. He has pioneered the use of patient-derived organoids to investigate the mechanisms underlying treatment resistance. Dr. Chen and his team developed the first human expandable FA organoids, which accurately replicate the epithelial architecture and function observed in patients. Dr. Chen's work, including the development of a single-cell transcriptome atlas of human breast FAs and normal tissue, represents a major advancement in understanding FA biology.
