Xu Jinshun, PhD, MD, Professor, Deputy Director, Department of Ultrasound, Sichuan Cancer Hospital, Chengdu, China, 610041. Dr. Xu's research focus on ultrasound imaging and interventional treatment of tumors as well as exogenous stimulus-responsive micro/nano carrier for drug delivery. The main achievements include: developing a multi-scale intelligent and multi-functional integrated microwave-responsive delivery system, proposing the concept of microwave stimulus-responsive drug delivery, revealing the mechanism of microwave-induced thermal phase transition, developing preparation technologies for microwave-responsive materials with different sizes and functions, optimizing the functional efficacy of microwave-responsive delivery systems in mediating ultrasonic molecular diagnosis and treatment of tumors. Dr. Xu has published nearly 50 high-quality academic papers, including 25 as the first author or corresponding author, and 3 as the first author or corresponding author with an impact factor greater than 10. He has presided over 6 national/provincial and ministerial-level projects, including the National Natural Science Foundation for Young Scholars, Beijing Natural Science Foundation, General Postdoctoral Research Fund, Central Government Guidance for Local Scientific and Technological Special Projects, and Key Research and Development Projects in Sichuan Province. She has applied for 4 national invention patents, 2 of which have been authorized. Currently, she holds social positions such as member of the Ultrasound Equipment Technology Branch of China Medical Equipment Association, member of the Ultrasound Medicine Branch of Sichuan Medical Association, member of the Minimally Invasive Treatment Professional Committee of Sichuan Anti-Cancer Association, and vice president of the Ultrasound Branch of Sichuan Medical Communication Association. He specializes in ultrasound diagnosis, puncture biopsy, and local ablation therapy for various diseases, including thyroid cancer, thyroid nodules, benign and malignant breast tumors, liver cancer, metastatic liver cancer, hepatic hemangioma, renal cancer, bladder cancer, prostate cancer, uterine fibroids, adenomyosis, and metastatic lymph nodes. Additionally, she is proficient in minimally invasive interventional treatments such as ultrasound-guided catheter drainage for malignant pleural/peritoneal effusions, pericardial effusions, obstructive hydronephrosis, and complex obstructive jaundice. In the leisure time, he enjoys playing the piano and pursuing literature.
