Dr. Luigi Sapio is Assistant Professor in Clinical Biochemistry and Clinical Molecular Biology at Department of Precision Medicine, University of Campania "Luigi Vanvitelli". He graduated cum laude in Molecular, Health and Nutrition Biology (MBiol) at University of Urbino “Carlo Bo” in 2012. Dr. Sapio also received the title of Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) in Cellular Biochemistry at University of Campania "Luigi Vanvitelli" in 2015. Education degree includes the Specialization School in Clinical Biochemistry (University of Naples “Federico II”, 2020). As a Postdoctoral Fellow, he first spent two years (2016-2018) at Department of Genomic Medicine (MD Anderson Cancer Center, Houston, Texas, USA), and then two additional years (2018-2019) at Department of Precision Medicine (University of Campania "Luigi Vanvitelli"). Dr. Sapio has co-authored over 50 publications in international and peer-reviewed journals, which are indexed in the main scientific database (Web of Science, Scopus, PubMed). The related bibliometric indicators are reported below (updated to July 2024): 46 Articles, 19 H-Index, 1191 Citations (Web of Science); 47 Articles, 20 H-Index, 1365 Citations (Scopus); 59 Articles, 24 H-Index, 1817 Citazioni (Google Scholar). Dr. Sapio is currently a member of the "Editorial Review Board" for International Journal of Molecular Science (https://www.mdpi.com/journal/ijms/submission_reviewers), where he has also been Guest Editor of two Special Issues (https://www.mdpi.com/journal/ijms/special_issues/Cancer_Treatment_2021_2022). He routinely serves international and peer-reviewed journals as Reviewer, as also documented by Web of Science platform (https://www.webofscience.com/wos/author/record/2227194). The scientific efforts are currently focused on: Exploring the adiponectin receptor agonist AdipoRon as a suitable candidate in cancer therapy; Programmed Cell Death Ligand 1 (PD-L1): understanding the cell regulation to improve diagnostic and therapeutic efficacy in cancer treatment; Digging into reversible and irreversible electroporation: in vitro and in silico multiphysical analyses on cell models for cancer treatment; Usefulness of Protein Kinase A dosage in biological fluids. Teamwork, Organization, Flexibility, Communication, Problem-solving, Positive attitude are the main professional skills that identify dr. Sapio. His personal workplace concept is built on exchange ideas and pay attention to the demands with the aim of prioritizing tasks, creating plans and solutions. Always surrounded by optimism, motivation and enthusiasm. Dr. Sapio likes to travel around the world and learn about customs and traditions. He plays football and volleyball in his spare time. He is also interested in reading books, especially storytelling.
