I am Yanxin Chang, a PhD, Associate Chief Physician, and Associate Professor at the Second Department of Biliary Surgery, Eastern Hepatobiliary Surgery Hospital affiliated with the Naval Medical University of China. I have long been committed to the clinical and basic research in hepatobiliary surgery. I focused on the surgical and comprehensive treatment of liver and gallbladder tumors, especially biliary tumors, such as hilar tumors, pancreatic tumors, and liver cancer. I also concentrate on the surgical and comprehensive treatment of metastatic liver cancer, like colorectal liver metastasis. In addition, I'm engaged in the surgical treatment of colorectal and gastric cancers, and complex biliary stone diseases. To date, I have published over 20 academic papers, 10 of which are indexed by the Science Citation Index (SCI). Among these, I have contributed to publications in top-tier journals such as the Journal of Hepatology, with one paper achieving an impact factor of over 10 and citations exceeding 100. I have led four national- and ministerial-level research projects as principal investigator, obtained five national patents, and participated in the compilation of the medical monograph Metastatic Liver Cancer. Professionally, I serve as a Standing Editor of the Chinese Journal of Metastatic Tumor and a core reviewer for its editorial department. I am also a member of the Metastatic Liver Cancer Professional Committee under the Chinese Branch of the Asia-Pacific Hepatopancreatobiliary Association and the secretary of the Liver and Biliary Endoscopic Surgery Physicians Alliance of the Wu Mengchao Medical Science Foundation. Furthermore, I am a reviewer for several SCI journals, including GENE, Frontiers of Medicine, and Scientific Reports, and currently review over 50 articles annually in both Chinese and English. My research has achieved international recognition. I was the first to successfully establish the expression profile of metastasis-related microRNAs in gallbladder cancer, revealing that miR-7-2-3p, miR-20a, and miR-29c-3p play crucial roles in regulating its metastasis. I further identified the TGF-β1-miR-20a-Smad7 signaling pathway as a key mechanism in gallbladder cancer metastasis. These findings were published in prestigious international journals such as the Journal of Hepatology (2013, IF=10.40) and Journal of Gastroenterology (2020, IF=7.53), with total citations exceeding 100. During the COVID-19 pandemic, I volunteered to support Wuhan’s COVID-19 containment efforts. I was the first to propose that false-negative results in throat swab nucleic acid testing were the primary cause of COVID-19 relapse in discharged patients. This research was published in the core academic journal "Academic Journal of the Second Military Medical University," providing valuable guidance for pandemic prevention and control. Additionally, I led the development of an early warning nomogram model to identify severe cases of COVID-19 (Aging, 2022, IF=5.96). This nomogram integrates several key factors: age, dyspnea, lymphocyte count, C-reactive protein (CRP), and interleukin-6 (IL-6). It can objectively and accurately predict the likelihood of common-type COVID-19 patients progressing to severe illness. Our research provides robust evidence to assist clinicians in more accurately assessing changes in patients' conditions, offering valuable guidance for early prevention and timely treatment. If honored to be a reviewer for your journal, I will wholeheartedly devote myself to reviewing and contributing to it. I will actively provide constructive suggestions for the journal's development and work diligently to enhance its influence. I am proficient in both Chinese and English communication and possess strong organizational skills. In my free time, I enjoy reading, music, traveling, and watching movies. I am also honored to serve as a reviewer for SCI journals and am committed to contributing my expertise to the advancement of academic publishing. Thank you for considering my application. I look forward to the opportunity to contribute to your journal.
