My name is Dr. Sher Zaman Safi. I hold a PhD and postdoctoral experience in molecular biology, biotechnology, biochemistry, and cell biology. I am currently working as an Associate Professor in the Department of Biochemistry at the Faculty of Medicine, MAHSA University, Malaysia. As an academic, my research and teaching focus on molecular biology, biotechnology, biochemistry, and cell biology. I aim to explore the underlying molecular mechanisms that drive diseases such as diabetes, cancer, cardiovascular conditions, and degenerative diseases. My goal is to contribute to innovative treatments and solutions through a deep understanding of biomolecular interactions and pathways. What differentiates me is my interdisciplinary approach, combining biotechnology with molecular biology to investigate disease mechanisms, especially through epigenetic and cellular models. My diverse international experience and collaborations also enable me to bridge gaps between disciplines and research cultures, advancing scientific inquiry and education globally. Throughout my academic career, I have made significant contributions to molecular biology, biochemistry, and biotechnology. I have published over 140 research articles in prestigious academic journals, including The Lancet, with many as first or corresponding author. My work has garnered over 5000 citations, reflecting its impact on the scientific community. According to Google Scholar, my H-index is a testament to the influence and reach of my research. I have delivered numerous speeches and presentations at international academic conferences, sharing my findings and engaging with global experts in my field. My work has earned me several prestigious awards, including the Bright Spark Scholarship, an excellence award during my PhD, and multiple young scientist travel awards. In addition to my research and teaching, I have made substantial contributions to academic journals. I currently serve as the Editor-in-Chief of the MAHSA International Journal of Health and Medicine (Mi-JHM) and sit on the editorial boards of several other prestigious journals. I have peer-reviewed numerous manuscripts for over 15 academic journals, helping to maintain the integrity and quality of scientific publications. Moreover, I have authored several editorials, sharing insights on emerging trends and challenges in molecular biology, biochemistry, and biotechnology. These roles have allowed me to actively shape the direction of research in my field. My personal and professional goals center around advancing scientific understanding and innovation in molecular biology, biochemistry, and biotechnology. I am particularly focused on investigating the molecular mechanisms of diseases such as diabetes, cancer, cardiovascular disorders, and degenerative conditions. My long-term research aims to uncover how epigenetic changes and cellular signaling pathways contribute to disease progression, with the goal of developing novel therapeutic strategies. I am also committed to fostering scientific collaboration and mentorship, contributing to the global research community through impactful publications, and enhancing academic excellence at MAHSA University. My work as an educator and researcher is driven by a desire to make meaningful advancements in health and medicine, while supporting the growth of future scientists. My professional skills combine technical expertise with strong interpersonal abilities, making me effective in academic and research environments.
