Dr. Manoj Kumar Gupta is a post-doctoral fellow at Hannover Medical School (MHH), Germany, where he has been advancing cutting-edge biomedical and computational research since July 2024. His work focuses on integrating multi-omics data and applying machine learning approaches to unravel complex biological processes, contributing to precision medicine and translational genomics. Prior to joining MHH, Dr. Gupta served as a post-doctoral researcher at the Centre for Individualised Infection Medicine (CiiM), a collaborative initiative between the Helmholtz Centre for Infection Research (HZI) and MHH, from April 2021 to June 2024. During this period, he specialized in computational genomics, multi-omics integration, and advanced bioinformatics analysis to study infectious diseases and host-pathogen interactions. Dr. Gupta has also held research positions at several prestigious institutions. He worked as a Research Associate at ICAR–National Rice Research Institute (NRRI), Cuttack, India (December 2020–February 2021), contributing to plant genomics and molecular biology projects. He gained international research experience as a Research Intern at the Max Planck Institute for Evolutionary Biology, Germany (March–May 2017), where he focused on evolutionary genomics. Earlier, he served as a Project Assistant at the DBT Centre for Bioinformatics, Presidency University, India (2012–2015), developing foundational expertise in computational biology and bioinformatics pipelines. Dr. Gupta earned his Ph.D. in Biotechnology and Bioinformatics from Yogi Vemana University, India (2016–2019). He holds an M.Sc. in Biotechnology with distinction from Berhampur University (2009–2011), a part-time Master in Computer Applications from ICFAI (2007–2010), and a B.Sc. in Botany (Honours) from the University of Calcutta (2004–2007). He has edited two books on bioinformatics, published over 35 research articles in peer-reviewed international journals, and authored numerous book chapters. With his multidisciplinary training, extensive research experience, and strong publication record, Dr. Gupta continues to push the frontiers of genomics, epigenetics, and data-driven biomedical research, making significant contributions to both fundamental science and translational applications.
