After I completed the Medical School in 2008 at the University of Catania (Catania, Italy) with Magna cum Laude 110/110, I started the Postgraduate School (residency) in Cardiology at Policlinico-Vittorio Emanuele-Ferrarotto Hospital, University of Catania (Catania, Italy). During the first year of residency, I was a research fellow at Texas Cardiac Arrhythmia Institute at St. David’s Medical Center (Austin, TX, United States) under Dr. Andrea Natale's supervision. During this period, I increased my knowledge in all aspects of cardiac electrophysiology, in particular, atrial fibrillation and ventricular tachycardia. During the residency, I was a visiting clinical fellow in cardiac electrophysiology the St. George’s Hospital (London, United Kingdom) under Dr. Mark Gallagher. In the United Kingdom, I increased my knowledge in the field of lead extraction and cryoballoon ablation of AF. In 2014 I obtained the Specialist Diploma in Cardiology with Magna cum Laude 70/70. After my cardiology residency, I started the first year of Fellowship in Cardiac Electrophysiology at Cardiac Arrhythmia Research Centre at Centro Cardiologico Monzino (Milan, Italy) leaded by Prof. Claudio Tondo. In 2015, I obtained the Second Level Master Degree in Cardiac Pacing and Electrophysiology at the University of Insubria (Varese, Italy) with 100/100. During the fellowship in Milan, I started my training in non-complex and complex ablation. In 2016, I obtained the position of Clinical Fellow in Advanced Cardiac Electrophysiology at the University of Toronto, ON, Canada, at Southlake Regional Health Centre under Dr. Atul Verma's supervision. From 2017 to 2025, I worked as consultant cardiac electrophysiologist at ARNAS Civico Hospital, Palermo, Italy. This Centre was included in several multicenter studies and registries. During 2017, I participated in the European Heart Rhythm Association (EHRA) Observational Training Program selection, winning a 1-month grant to visit and work at the Institute Cardiovasculaire Paris Sud at Hôpital Privé Jacques Cartier (Massy, France). In early 2021, I defended my Ph.D. thesis at the University of Tor Vergata, Rome, Italy, on multielectrode mapping in ventricular tachycardia ablation. Later in 2021, I was selected as one of the 32 participants of the DAS-CAM 2021, Diploma of Advanced Studies in Cardiac Arrhythmia Management. I completed the DAS-CAM Program in 2023. In 2025, I started my current position as Clinical Assistant Professor at Department of Internal Medicine, Division of Cardiovascular Medicine, Section of Cardiac Electrophysiology at University of Iowa, Iowa City, IA, United States.
