Dr Md Sayed Ali Sheikh, MBBS, MD, Ph.D., Associate Professor in Cardiology, Jouf University, Saudi Arabia. Ali Sheikh’s research mainly focused on microRNAs in cardiovascular diseases (CVDs). His research is related to Basic, clinical, animal study, and cells study, such as Diagnostic and prognostic role of miRNAs in Stable and unstable coronary artery diseases. Role of miRNAs as a non-invasive biomarker for Acute myocardial infarction. Molecular involvement of miRNAs in Hypoxic and Hypoxic-reoxygenation condition in HUVEC and H9c2 cells. Impact of miRNAs as a new therapeutic target for CAD and AMI. The miRNAs relationship with heart failure. The relationship of miRNAs with essential hypertension and metabolic syndrome. Involvement of miRNAs in the development and progression of coronary atherosclerosis. The relationship of miRNAs with various inflammatory markers. The miRNAs relationship with oxidative stress, cellular apoptosis, cellular injury and cellular viability. Aging is a non-modifiable major risk factor for CVDs, and its underlying molecular mechanisms are complex, and Dr Ali Sheikh also works on miRNAs correlation with aging and aging related diseases. He is also expert in clinical trials, patients’ samples, how to develop animal AMI model for diagnosis and therapeutic purpose, cell culture, hypoxic and hypoxic-reoxygenated model, cell treatment by drugs and miRNAs, luciferase, ROS, Hoechst, RNA extraction , protein extraction, Western blotting. He also served as editor and guest editor in different journals such as BMC cardiovascular disorders, Journal of International Medical Research, Oxidative Medicine and Cellular longevity, Cardiology Research and Practice, Cardiovascular Therapeutics, Mediators of Inflammation, Frontiers in Cardiovascular Medicine, Biomedical reports, Medicine International, Bioscience research.
