Islam Y Elgendy, MD is an Assistant Professor of Medicine at Weil Cornell Medicine-Qatar. He completed his internal medicine residency, cardiology and interventional cardiology fellowships at the University of Florida. He then completed an advanced vascular diagnostic and intervention fellowship at Massachusetts General Hospital and Harvard Medical School. He is a fellow of the European Society of Cardiology, American College of Cardiology, American Heart Association, Society for Cardiovascular Angiography and Interventions, and American College of Physicians. His major research interests include the impact of various interventions and pharmacotherapies on the outcomes of patients with coronary artery disease, acute coronary syndromes and acute ischaemic stroke. His research focuses on clinical research related to meta-analysis, epidemiology as well as outcomes research in acute coronary syndromes, acute ischaemic stroke, and heart disease in women. He has published over 230 manuscripts in prestigious peer review journals.
