Dr. Zubair earned his Doctorate in 2012 from Aligarh Muslim University (AMU), Aligarh, where he also completed a Post-Doctoral Fellowship at the Centre for Diabetes & Endocrinology. His academic journey began with a strong foundation in medical sciences, leading to his appointment as an Assistant Professor in the Department of Medical Microbiology, Faculty of Medicine, in 2015. Demonstrating dedication and expertise, he was promoted to Associate Professor in December 2021. Over the years, Dr. Zubair has established himself as a prominent figure in the field through prolific research, teaching, and active participation in international conferences. His areas of specialization include Extended Spectrum Beta-Lactamases (ESBLs), cytokines involved in inflammatory and anti-inflammatory processes, as well as the application of nanoparticles and phytomedicine in clinical settings. Throughout his career, he has contributed notably to scientific knowledge, holding four German patents, editing two books, publishing 56 research articles, and authoring 11 internationally recognized book chapters. His outstanding research achievements were recognized globally when he received the prestigious "Marvil Levin" Best Research Award from the American Diabetes Association during the 72nd Scientific Sessions held in Philadelphia in June 2012. In addition to his academic pursuits, Dr. Zubair actively participates in scientific research and innovation initiatives that align with Saudi Arabia's Vision 2030. His work supports the kingdom's strategic goal of diversifying its economy through scientific and technological advancements. He was an integral member of the team that successfully reactivated the laboratory facilities under the Research Development and Innovation Authority (RDIA). To date, he has secured eight research grants worth SAR 752,533 from the Ministry of Innovation Council and DSR-University of Tabuk, contributing significantly to the kingdom's ambition to drive forward research, development, and innovation. His research contributions have garnered international recognition, leading to invitations to speak in countries such as India, Qatar, Turkey, Australia, the UK, Dubai, and the USA. These opportunities promote global collaboration, which is critical to realizing Saudi Arabia’s Vision 2030. Additionally, Dr. Zubair actively participates in various university committees, demonstrating his commitment to academic excellence and institutional development. His involvement aims to foster an environment conducive to nurturing future researchers and healthcare professionals, ultimately contributing to the kingdom’s scientific and educational progress.
