Dr. Pavlidis is a Distinguished Professor in the School of Medicine, Aristotle University of Thessaloniki, Greece. He was born in 1956, is Full Professor of Surgery, graduated from Medical School, Aristotles University, Thessaloniki, Greece in 1979. He had notable surgical training in an academic department of Thessaloniki (4 years) and he has gained considerable clinical experience (36-year hospital work in Thessaloniki). He had further special surgical training abroad for 1.5 years involved in Hepatopancreatobiliary Unit of the Department of Surgery, Hammersmith Hospital, London, United Kingdom (1 year), Department of Surgery, advanced laparoscopic procedures, Hospital Cantonal Fribourg, Switzerland (5 mo) and Minimally Invasive Surgery Center, L Weiss, Memorial Hospital, CHI, United States (1 mo). His teaching activities span teaching students (27 years) and trainees in Surgery (37 years). His research and publishing work includes 164 full papers in English published in international peer-reviewed journals (IF: 307, Cited by: 2901, H-Factor: 32, i10-Index: 66) and 88 full papers in Greek published in local journals. He is reviewer in several peer-reviewed journals and member of the IHPBA and EAES. His research and clinical Interest focuses on Hepatopancreatobiliary Surgery, Laparoscopic Surgery.
