Dr. Masaya Nakauchi is an Associate Professor at the School of Medicine, Fujita Health University, Japan. Having received his MD degree from Kobe University in 2006, Dr. Nakauchi undertook his postgraduate training at the Kobe City Medical Center General Hospital and has been an Attending Physician in the Department of Surgery at Mitsubishi Kyoto Hospital since 2012. He became an assistant professor at Fujita Health Health University in 2014 and obtained his PhD degree in 2016. After a two-year research fellowship at Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center under the instruction of Professor Vivian Strong (2019 to 2021), Dr. Nakauchi returned to Fujita Health University. He was promoted to Associate Professor in the School of Medicine, Fujita Health University in 2021. His ongoing research interests are minimally invasive surgery, including surgical robots and genomic research for upper gastrointestinal cancers. He has published about 50 peer-reviewed articles and was awarded One of the seven best original presentations in the European Association for Endoscopic Surgery video award (2014), Best Video Award in the 10th annual World Wide Congress of Clinical Robotics Surgery Association (2018), Best International Abstract in the Society of American Gastrointestinal and Endoscopic Surgeons annual meeting (2019), and Young Investigator Award at the 13th International Gastric Cancer Congress (2019). Currently, he is an associate professor at the Department of Advanced Robotic and Endoscopic Surgery, Fujita Health University, Japan.
