I am Diogo Turiani Hourneaux de Moura, MD, MSc, PhD, Post-PhD. An Associate Professor in the Department of Gastroenterology at the School of Medicine of University of Sao Paulo, Brazil. My research areas include but are not limited to advanced endoscopy procedures, mainly biliopancreatic diseases, bariatric and metabolic endoscopy, and endoscopic management of transmural gastrointestinal defects. I have published more than 200 articles as the first author or co-corresponding author in important academic journals indexed to PUBMED (MEDLINE) such as Endoscopy, American Journal Gastroenterology, Gastroenterology, Gastrointestinal Endoscopy, and World Journal of Gastroenterology. My articles have been cited over 5,500 times. I was invited to give speeches at the main gastroenterology conferences such as Digestive Diseases Week (DDW), Flexible Endoscopy Surgery, ENDO (World Endoscopy Organization), and others. My Google Scholar's H-index is 42. I have peer reviewed over 50 manuscripts for academic journals including Gastrointestinal Endoscopy, World Journal Gastrointestinal Endoscopy, and others. I am an associate international editor for iGIE and member of others Editorial Boards as World Journal of Gastroenterology, Clinical Endoscopy, AND TIGE. I am the funder and director of the largest bariatric endoscopy course in the world, named BARIATRIC ENDOSCOPY LIVE GLOBAL. As bariatric endoscopy is my passion, this course was create with the goal to expand less-invasive therapies for the management of obesity and its related-comorbidities. We are aiming to create novel devices for the endoscopic management of obesity and for the management od transmural gastrointestinal defects. I'm good at critical thinking, and possess strong active listening, communication, interpersonal, leadership, mentoring, management, and problem-solving skills to effectively oversee the editorial process and maintain high publication standards. Additionally, I have a solid background in biomedical sciences and familiarity with publishing ethics and digital tools to critically evaluate research and guide authors and reviewers.
