I am Ahmed Tawheed, an endoscopy, gastroenterology, and hepatology consultant at Helwan University in Cairo, Egypt. I currently hold a medical doctorate (M.D.) in Hepatology and Gastroenterology from Helwan University. I have always aspired to be both a doctor and a writer, and I discovered that I could fulfill these aspirations through an academic career. I embarked on my academic journey in 2018 after completing my Master of Science, with my initial focus on writing my first international paper. In 2022, I obtained my medical doctorate, allowing me to further my academic pursuits and contribute to the publication of multiple research papers in top-tier journals. I have achieved an h-index of 14 with 3228 citations and have authored nearly 44 international publications, including 8 as corresponding, first, or last author. Also, I received fund for three of my projects the highest among them was from ANRS in France in collaboration with institut pasteur producing in a large study on hepatocellular carcinoma published in the journal of hepatocellular carcinoma. I currently hold ESGE membership and also a member of the UEG talent pool. Currently, I serve as an editorial board member for two reputable journals, BMC Gastroenterology and Therapeutic Advances in Chronic Disease, and I also contribute as a peer reviewer for multiple esteemed journals such as ACG Case Reports, Case Reports in Gastroenterology, Journal of Hepatocellular Carcinoma, Therapeutic Advances in Gastroenterology, Hepatic Medicine: Evidence and Research, and Therapeutic Advances in Gastroenterology. I take pride in reviewing nearly 25 international publications across these journals. I wrote four editorials, one of them in the World Journal of Gastroenterology. My goal is to establish a dedicated research team consisting of skilled doctor investigators, experienced senior colleagues, ambitious junior doctors looking to learn, proficient biostatisticians, and language experts for editing. I am determined to make research accessible to every young doctor, providing opportunities not only to read but to actively participate in projects. I'm currently focused on two main areas for my research projects: endoscopy, particularly ERCP and third-space endoscopy, and the field of pancreas. I also have previous experience in multiple research projects related to liver cancer, autoimmune diseases, and viral hepatitis. I have professional experience in hepatology, gastroenterology, and endoscopy. In addition, I consider myself approachable and confident in communication. I also possess strong presentation skills and am known for being a good listener, especially for junior doctors. I was a swimming champion so my main hobby is swimming and watching football games.
