Biography of Professor Noha Bader El Din I am Professor Noha Gamal El Din Samy Bader El Din, Ph.D., a Professor of Medical Biotechnology at the National Research Centre (NRC) in Cairo, Egypt, where I also serve on the Scientific Promotion Committee for Biochemistry and Medical Sciences. My academic influence is defined by my pioneering work in molecular oncology and viral hepatitis, focusing on circulating microRNAs (miRNAs), exosomal biomarkers, and liquid biopsy to enable early detection, prognosis, and precision management of colorectal cancer (CRC) and hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC), particularly in Egyptian and MENA populations—a focus that differentiates me through my commitment to bridging molecular biomarker discovery with clinical translation for underserved regions, my integration of multi-omics approaches to address cancer health disparities, and my completion of postdoctoral training at Baylor College of Medicine, USA, as well as invited professorships at Cairo University and the Academy of Scientific Research and Technology. I have published over 30 articles as first or corresponding author in important academic journals, delivered more than 20 international conference presentations, accumulated 727 citations with an h-index of 18 (Scopus), received numerous awards including the NRC Award of Scientific Excellence in Advanced Biotechnological Sciences (2023), the State Award of Scientific Encouragement in Biological Sciences (2010), and the NRC Pioneer Award (2013), and I hold memberships in professional associations such as the Research Ethics Council and Basic Science Council of the Academy of Scientific Research and Technology (ASRT), the International Society for Infectious Diseases (ISID), and the Egyptian Society of Biochemistry and Molecular Biology. In addition to my research, I have contributed to academic journals as an editorial board member for 10 journals and have peer reviewed over 50 manuscripts. My personal and professional goals are to advance precision oncology by integrating multi-omics and artificial intelligence for personalized cancer therapy, to improve early detection and outcomes for patients in low- and middle-income countries, and to contribute to global health estimates through collaboration with the Global Burden of Disease (GBD) study, with long-term research engagement in cancer biomarkers, liquid biopsy, and miRNA therapeutics. I possess distinctive professional skills including active listening, effective communication, interpersonal aptitude, leadership, mentoring, management, and problem-solving, which I have demonstrated through my roles as a principal investigator on multiple national and international grants (including STDF and FP7 projects), a scientific promotion committee member, and a research ethics council member. Outside of my professional life, I enjoy reading, traveling, and spending quality time with my family.
