Dr. El-Yazbi graduated from the Faculty of Pharmacy, Alexandria University, Egypt in June 2001 with top honors. In 2004, he moved to get his PhD degree from the Faculty of Medicine at the University of Alberta in Edmonton, Canada, which was awarded in 2007.  After the conclusion of his PhD, Dr. El-Yazbi was awarded two fellowships from the Canadian Institutes for Health Research and Alberta Innovates-Health Solutions, during which he conducted a research program studying the regulation of cerebral blood flow at the Hotchkiss Brain Institute of the Faculty of Medicine in the University of Calgary, Canada.  He is also a licensed Clinical Pharmacist and a Board-Certified Pharmacotherapy Specialist with extensive experience in highly specialized pharmaceutical services. Dr. El-Yazbi has a very solid university-level teaching and research track record evident in 20 years of experience teaching to pharmacy and medical students in Canadian, Egyptian, and Lebanese universities. He also has over nine years of experience as a clinical pharmacist. He has over 70 research articles published in peer-reviewed journals and serves as an independent reviewer for a number of scientific/professional journals and bodies. Dr. El-Yazbi’s contributions are recognized by invitations to present, speak, and chair scientific sessions in multiple national, regional, and international venues. Ahmed’s current research and teaching interests focus on investigating the mechanisms and consequences of vascular dysfunction in early stages of metabolic disease together with the identification of possible targets for therapeutic intervention with these detrimental pathways, in addition to related Pharmacy Practice and Therapeutic issues.
