Alba Panarese is a gastroenterologist, expert in the field of digestive endoscopy, and, in particular, an Italian trained operative digestive endoscopist, who offers both gastroenterological and endoscopical care. Doctor Panarese has co-led the implementation of endoscopic diagnosis and treatment of early gastrointestinal cancers, plus the new biliopancreatic endoscopic approaches. She has involved many operating units in her country and beyond in her research and teaching activities, enabling the progress of knowledge, especially in endoscopic images diagnosis. In this way, she was able to greatly increase submucosal endoscopic dissections. In fact, she collaborated in the preparation of the position statements relating to the European training curriculum necessary to perform the ESD.
