I am the Professor of Surgery and a full time Consultant General Surgeon with a specialist interest and ‘Advanced Laparoscopic Surgery and OG Cancer’. I work at The James Cook University Hospital (South Tees Acute Hospitals NHS Trust) in Middlesbrough. I continue to be in active clinical practice since my appointment in May 2001. I have an extremely busy clinical practice in the management of general surgery, trauma, emergency and elective problems. I carry specialist interest in ‘abdominal wall hernia surgery’, over the years, have contributed to training and holding ‘Live TAPP hernia Courses’ in UK. I am a fellow of the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Glasgow and a fellow the Royal College of Surgeons of Ireland. My original qualifications also include Master of Surgery (MS) and the Intercollegiate fellowship exam in General Surgery.
