Dr Kheng Tian Lim, FRACS, FACS, FRCSI (Gen Surg), MCh, MB BCh BAO Senior Staff Specialist Surgeon | Central Queensland Hospital and Health Service Dr Kheng Tian Lim is a Senior Staff Specialist Surgeon with the Central Queensland Hospital and Health Service, bringing extensive international experience and a strong commitment to high quality, patient centred surgical care. He is a Fellow of the Royal Australasian College of Surgeons, the American College of Surgeons, and the Royal College of Surgeons in Ireland, reflecting his broad professional recognition across multiple leading surgical bodies. Dr Lim is a General Surgeon with a special interest in Gastrointestinal Surgery especially Upper GI Surgery. He is highly skilled in minimally invasive surgical techniques and therapeutic endoscopy, with a clinical focus on delivering safe, effective, and cost efficient care for patients requiring complex gastrointestinal interventions. His training and practice have spanned several healthcare systems, including Ireland, the United Kingdom, Singapore, and Australia, giving him a diverse clinical perspective and a deep understanding of global surgical standards. His academic and research interests centre on General Surgery, particularly Upper GI Surgery. Dr Lim has contributed to peer reviewed publications and ongoing research, with his work accessible through his ORCID profile (https://orcid.org/0000-0003-2574-5773) and ResearchGate (https://www.researchgate.net/profile/Kheng-Tian-Lim). He is an active member of several international professional organisations, including the International Society for Diseases of the Esophagus (ISDE), the International Gastric Cancer Association (IGCA), and the Endoscopic and Laparoscopic Surgeons of Asia (ELSA). His recent publication, Strategies for Older Persons Undergoing Upper Gastrointestinal Surgery, highlights his commitment to improving outcomes for older and vulnerable patient groups. Dr Lim’s professional strengths include collaboration and teamwork, communication, cultural competence and cultural safety, health advocacy, clinical judgement and decision making, leadership and management, medical expertise, professionalism, scholarship, teaching, and advanced technical surgical skills. Beyond his clinical and academic work, he enjoys spending time at the beach, appreciating the sunshine and sea breeze.
