Dr. Neelapu Nageswara Rao Reddy is currently a Assistant Professor in Bioinformatics Division at Department of Biochemistry and Bioinformatics, Institute of Science, Gandhi Institute of Technology and Management (GITAM), Deemed to be University, Visakhapatnam, India. He obtained his Masters in Life Science from Pondicherry Central University, Pondicherry and Ph.D. in Evolutionary Bioinformatics from Andhra University, Visakhapatnam, India. His research interest is in Bioinformatics, Cancer, and Fungal Biology with specialization in drug target discovery, HLA-based peptide vaccine design, genome analysis, phylogeny and evolution, and cancer. Furthermore, he expanded his research fields to understanding biochemical mechanism of stress induced proteins, structure-function relationship of proteins, and exploring next generation sequencing data for understanding traits. He was a recipient of several fellowships like CSIR-UGC Junior Research Fellowship; and DAAD Visiting Fellowship, Germany. He has published more than 48 research articles in prestigious peer reviewed international Scopus-indexed journals and presented 18 abstracts at various national and international conferences. He has served on editorial board for a number of national and international journals. He is a member of many international scientific societies and organizations, most importantly, Indian Science Congress & Society of Biological Chemists, India. He also served as reviewer for a number of international journals like Scientific Reports, Frontiers Immunology, BMC Malaria Journal, BMC Structural Biology, Current Drug Targets, Current Cancer Drug Targets, Current Medicinal Chemistry Anti-infective Agents, Current Computer-Aided Drug Design, Infectious Disorders-Drug Targets, Geospatial Health, Computer Methods and Programs in Biomedicine, Journal of Biocatalysis and Agricultural Biotechnology African Entomology, Bioremediation Journal. He has more than 12 years of teaching experience at the university level in Computational Biology, Bioinformatics, Computing, Genomics, Cancer Informatics, Immunology and Immunoinformatics, Molecular Phylogeny. He has guided three doctoral students for their Ph.D. and filed an Indian patent in 2018.
